Subject: links for you all to look at - GopherCon trip report, X.500 gateway
Date: Wed, 19 Aug 92 00:53:16 -0400
From: emv@cic.net
take a look at
gopher://gopher.msen.com:70/11/internet-review/v2n3
for a trip report to GopherCon. I did an "alternative universe"
scenario in which the conference was really about World Wide Web
instead, the supercollider was in Michigan not Texas, and U Minnesota
was running a mainframe based CWIS.
the other thing coming out of that that's really cool is a gopher based
X.500 front end, see
gopher://umich.edu:7777/
for that. (subject to change). Tim Howes did some work so that
a server speaks gopher on one side and X.500 on the other, something
which I think is quite reusable in the WWW world.
thanks,
